Space Debris is Wreaking Havoc for the Satellite Industry

Space around the Earth is filling up and filling up fast. As of now there are more than 8,000 functioning satellites and there are over 25,000 pieces of Space debris that are larger than the size of a large ball racing at such speeds that the damage they make to anything in their way is massive and very, very expensive.

Insurance companies have almost stop insuring Space satellites for collision damage and this massively increases the risk of loss. Only half of all satellite launches are insured and that(s expected to decrease immediately.

Starlink, for example plans to launch 12,000 more satellites in the next five years and companies such as Amazon are planning the same. The risks are escalating at an alarming rate and a worldwide oversight and coordinating body is urgent as well as a real concerted effort to clean up existing debris.

Dogeroid’s Space Platform blockchain is being created as a community for the world’s Space players and one of it’s main goals is to have a way for all Space players to work together to not only address satellite problems, but to have a decentralized platform to resolve the debris and insurance issues. One blockchain for Space activity will create the eco-system for transparency, creativity and resolution. Visit Dogeroid.net
